The research and editing of Images are part of the daily bread for our work in the presentation agency smavicon. Through our more than 20 years of work, we know that the presenter can secure the viewer’s attention primarily by means of the images . I am also frequently asked in my presentation trainings and seminars regarding the proper selection and number of images in the presentation. From my point of view, especially the image tension is important: because only memorable images remain in the audience’s memory.
Pictures – from stone walls to canvases and photography
Images influence us. They trigger emotions and memories , can make us laugh or cry, but can also encourage and strengthen. People have been painting pictures since time immemorial: on stone walls, canvases, or simply photographing something to remember it by.
Images are much faster to process than texts and are therefore better retained. This circumstance has been exploited by the advertising industry for many years – which in turn has led to a veritable flood of images. But this flood of images is also responsible for the fact that we no longer store images because we have already seen them too often.
Image tension tips
To be remembered by the audience with your own presentation , you need to either incorporate rarely used images, make them more exciting or even use newly created images. You can increase the excitement in your own images in various ways: by using an unusual perspective, unusual image motifs or an interesting image detail.
